BATON ROUGE- Authorities arrested a woman they say abused her 91-year-old mother.
Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Highland Park Drive Saturday. At the home, police knocked on the door and heard yells for help. Authorities forced their way into the home.
Inside the home, arrest documents say Elizabeth Brister took a fighting stance with officers and was later tased and placed under arrest.
Authorities learned that Brister was intoxicated, and could not answer questions about what happened.
Authorities say, a witness said Brister's "hostile behavior" against the elderly woman included grabbing the victim by her face and screaming at her.
According to the affidavit, the victim was also hit several times.
Brister is charged with cruelty to the infirm, simple battery of the infirm, false imprisonment and resisting an officer.
