Wife of fallen Marine reveals gender of their child on Veterans Day
WILMINGTON, N.C.- A military widow honors her fallen husband with a Veterans Day gender reveal for their first child.
Cassie Lohrey lost her husband, Ryan Lohrey, a month after they were married. He was one of 15 Marines killed in a military plane crash in Mississippi in June.
Lohrey found out that she was expecting their first child a week after his funeral.
On Veterans Day, she gathered a group of Marine and Navy corpsmen who had served with Ryan to help her with the gender reveal.
"I wanted to honor her daddy on this special day," Lohrey said. "Veterans Day is a big deal for us every year, but this year it’s extra special."
The baby girl will be named Ryan Jo Lohrey, taking her father's first name and her mother's middle name. She is due in March of 2018.
