WANTED: Surveillance camera spots man stealing computer at local Wal-Mart

BATON ROUGE - Authorities are seeking a man after he was seen stealing a $1,500 computer from the Wal-Mart on O'Neal Lane.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, the crime initially occured on Aug. 30.

A surveillance camera captured the man as he stuffed the computer inside a box of a much cheaper item. The man then checked out with that computer still hidden inside the box.

The sheriff's office released the surveillance video Wednesday, asking for the public's assistance in locating the thief. 

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark brown leather jacket.
