BATON ROUGE - Police say a robbery led to a shooting that left one victim with life-threatening injuries Thursday.

Baton Rouge Police Department officials say the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Monarch Avenue.

A male victim arrived at an urgent care clinic and was later transported to a medical facility with apparent life-threatening injuries, police say.

Police say they do not have any information on a suspect.

The victim was brought to the hospital by a private vehicle, according to police.

This was the first of two shootings occurring within an hour from one another. A second shooting occurred in the 2000 block of Plank Road near Jackson Avenue.

Police say the victim is expected to survive.

The shooting remains under investigation.
