Man dies at boat launch, sheriff reports
RAMAH - A man died after a medical emergency at a boat launch in Iberville Parish, the sheriff's office said Thursday.
The unidentified man went to retrieve something that fell off a boat and never resurfaced. Investigators believe he had a medical condition that lead to his death in the water. They described the deceased as a good swimmer.
A friend of the man jumped in to find him and bring him to shore, but was not able to revive him, authorities said.
Shreff Brett Stassi said the man was a Vietnam veteran.
