AT&T service restored, outage caused by third party, rep says
ASCENSION – AT&T officials have reported, as of Friday morning, that services have been restored to customers who experienced outages in Ascension Parish Thursday afternoon.
Officials say that customers were affected after a "fiber cable cut" between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
According to AT&T, technicians worked through the night to resolve the issue and service is "currently running normally."
As of Friday morning, officials say that the "cut" was caused by a third party clearing heavy brush in the area.
