River Center could see renovations
BATON ROUGE - The theater and ballroom of the Baton Rouge River Center could be seeing major renovations in the coming years.
More than $12 million in renovations could be made to the complex over the next few years in an effort to modernize it.
On Wednesday, the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council is due to vote on whether to appropriate $1.8 million toward designs for the improvements. The council has the money for the designs. The funds come from rebates of state sales taxes.
City-parish Chief Administrative Officer William Daniel says the problems with the theater and ballroom have become dire and need to be fixed.
