Body of woman found in Bonnet Carre Spillway
ST. CHARLES PARISH - Authorities say the body of a woman was found in Bonnet Carré Spillway early Wednesday morning.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that morning work crews with the KCS Railroad contacted them shortly after 7 a.m. about in a body in Lake Pontchartrain. The woman’s body was located just west of the entrance canal to the lower section in the Bonnet Carré Spillway.
Deputies say the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. She was clad in a red and white plaid button-down shirt, a white under-shirt and a blue sports bra, according to WWL-TV.
