$5,000 rewards offered as three murdered in Natalbany in 24 hours
NATALBANY - Two separate $5,000 rewards are being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals behind the murder of three men within the span of 24 hours in Tangipahoa Parish.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the first incident, a double homicide, happened in Natalbany at around 3 a.m. Thursday. 31-year-old Randy Darnell Bickham, of Springfield, and 31-year-old Charleston, Mitchell of Hammond were found unresponsive at the scene on the side of Haynes Lane and North Oak.
On Friday, deputies reported finding the body 18-year-old Marquise Lightfoot in the yard of a residence off of McGee Lane in Natalbany. The LSP Crime Lab is working with deputies to attempt to connect the homicides which occurred within 24 hours of each other.
Deputies noted that Natalbany is a rural area with a history of drug-related arrests. The sheriff’s office did say that homicides, especially three in the period of just a day, is unusual. The sheriff said the murders were obviously targeted in nature, but whether or not they are connected has yet to be revealed.
In the Friday afternoon press conference where the rewards were announced, Sheriff Daniel Edwards said he believes a member of the public has information that could lead to the unraveling of the potentially related crimes. In the meantime, Edwards says patrols will be stepped up in the area as the investigation continues.
