SLIDELL - Firefighters recovered the body of a man while extinguishing flames at a residence Friday.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's detectives said they were called out to the 37000 block of Brownsvillage Road around 9 a.m. after fire officials found the body on a bed inside.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office identified the man as 63-year-old Bernard Walker. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday to determine the cause of death.
