Protesters cling to equipment at Bayou Bridge Pipeline, 4 arrested
IBERVILLE PARISH - Protesters have attached themselves to equipment to interfere with the construction of the Bayou Bridge Pipeline.
The protest began Tuesday morning in Iberville Parish south of LA Highway 404.
Sheriff Brett Stassi of the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office says four people have been arrested.
As of 12 p.m. Tuesday, one protestor remains attached to a piece of equipment with a lock box. Stassi says state police are trying to remove the lock box, but if that doesn't work, the plan is to break down a piece of equipment to safely remove the individual from the machine.
