Police release name of pedestrian killed in Wednesday night hit and run on Elm Drive
BATON ROUGE - Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating a deadly hit and run crash that occurred Wednesday night around 8 p.m. within the 4500 block of Elm Drive.
Police say the crash involved a pedestrian identified as 44-year-old Chelvis Maiden of Zachary, and the driver of an unknown vehicle.
Traffic Homicide Investigators believe Maiden was hit by a passing vehicle as he was walking on the side of the roadway. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle made no attempt to stop or render aid after the crash.
Police say Maiden succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
