GEISMAR- A man was murdered in the middle of a street Wednesday evening, sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish reported.

The victim was found near the intersection of Ellem Road and Stevenson Road, off Highway 73 around 9 p.m.
The person's name was not released, nor the name of any potential suspects.

A spokesperson only said more information would be released later.
