GREENVILLE, S.C. - No. 4 LSU women's basketball opens up the SEC Tournament by beating Georgia 83-66. The Tigers hot lights out from deep, hitting 50 percent of their 3's.

It wasn't Angel Reese best night with only 15 points, and 6 rebounds. That's only the second time this season that Reese hasn't had a double-double. But the guards picked up the slack. Flau'jae Johnson had 21 and went 5-7 from downtown, and Alexis Morris lead the Tigers with 28 points.

Coach Kim Mulkey has led LSU to a No. 2 seed in both of her first two seasons in Baton Rouge, but she is in search of her first win at the SEC Tournament. LSU was defeated by Kentucky last season in the quarterfinals as the No. 7-seeded Wildcats went on a run to win the SEC Tournament Championship.

“Our goal is to win one more in the SEC Tournament than we’ve done since this staff has been here,” Coach Mulkey said.
