Family members say Devon Gales 'making progress'
BATON ROUGE - Devon Gales' uncle, Vernal Davis, told News 2 the Southern Jaguars wide receiver is making strides in his recovery.
"Devon is doing good and he's having great progress. He's coming along just fine," said Davis.
Devon Gales suffered a spinal injury in September during a Southern's game against the Georgia Bulldogs. He is now in Atlanta, Georgia at the Shepherd Center, recovering.
People all around the world, from Georgia to China, have been sending messages of encouragement to the Gales family.
"That's a long way, and it's prayers. You know, they're sending prayers back to Devon. And we really appreciate that. We really do," said Davis.
If you would like to donate to help the Gales family with medical expenses, they request you that you make a donation online.
