Driver injured in crash involving big rig
BATON ROUGE - Old Hammond Hwy. has reopened to traffic after crews cleared an accident involving an 18-wheeler overnight.
Police say the rig and a pickup truck were involved in the crash just before 3:30 a.m. Friday, forcing officers to shut down the road between S. Flannery and Elwick St.
Officers say the driver of the pickup suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
