Draft of Common Core revisions up for panel vote

NEW ORLEANS- A state panel formed to review the Common Core education standards is expected soon to vote on a draft of proposed changes.
The standards committee meets Tuesday in New Orleans.
The panel was formed by the Legislature last year as a compromise between opponents and supporters of the multi-state education standards.
The panel is expected to vote on a proposal that 18 percent of the English standards be changed, and 26 percent of math standards.
If the panel approves the proposal, the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is expected to vote on it in March.
