Donations, volunteers still needed at Nicholson distribution center
BATON ROUGE - City officials set up a distribution center for supplies on Saturday to receive and distribute donations to residents in need.
Here is an updated list of items that are still needed for families displaced from their homes:
Lots of BOXES
Storage crates
Clothing racks
New underwear (men/women)
Ziploc bags
Personel hygiene supplies
Styrofoam to-go plates
LOTS of heavy-duty contractors trash bags
Markers
Tape
First-aid supplies
LOTS of cleaning supplies
Washing powder
Dishwashing liquid
Hand soap
Pillow cases
Linens
Blankets
Towels
Paper goods
Construction materials
The center was set up at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church at 1564 Nicholson Drive. If anyone has access to the above items, they are urged to have them delivered to the church or to call Councilwoman Tara Wicker at 225-317-1849.
Volunteers are still needed to help distribute supplies that are being donated. They’re still looking for the following appliances to be donated:
2 refrigerators or freezer
1 microwave
1 dryer
1 washer
