WALKER - A 22-year-old Denham Springs man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on LA 447 early Sunday morning.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. on LA 447 south of Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 22-year-old Hayden Bayham of Denham Springs.

Through the initial investigation, State Police determined that the crash occurred as Bayham was traveling southbound on LA 447 in a 2016 Chevrolet pickup. Bayham failed to maintain control of his vehicle and ran off the right side of the roadway, according to State Police.

The vehicle struck multiple trees and began to overturn. Bayham was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner's Office.

State Police say impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash. A standard toxicology sample was taken from Bayham for analysis.
