Companion Animal Alliance awarded grant for most adoptions during Petco event
BATON ROUGE - Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge earned a $28,8000 grant award for achieving the most pet adoptions of any animal control operator in the nation.
The event was held the first weekend in October and showcased pets up for adoption from Baton Rouge based animal welfare organizations at Petco stores across the country. By the end of the weekend, nearly 14,000 pets found homes during the adoption event. 88 pets found homes in the Baton Rouge area alone.
As the best animal control operator in the nation, Companion Animal Alliance is set to receive an additional Adoption Champion grant award of $20,000, plus adoption bonuses equaling $28,000 total.
“We are deeply honored to receive the Champion Grant Award and thank the Petco Foundation for this amazing opportunity to have 88 pets find homes. This could not have happened without a great team of staff, volunteers, supporters and our local partner, Petco at Acadian Village,” said Executive Director of Companion Animal Alliance, Beth Brewster.
