Brightside Lane now open after RxR crossing work
BATON ROUGE - The state re-opened the railroad crossing on Brightside, allowing traffic to once again move from Nicholson.
The crossing - and the street - were closed so crews could rework the railroad crossing ahead of a revamped intersection. The re-designed intersection will add left turn lanes, a new track crossing, asphalt, and signals.
Brightside Ln. was closed at the tracks from October 28th until November 22nd. It re-opened a few hours ahead of schedule. The state previously said it would re-open at 5:00 PM Friday.
DOTD anticipates the entire project may be finished by the end of January.
