NEW ORLEANS - A man was found dead in an Uptown New Orleans home and another man was taken in for questioning after a four-hour standoff with police.

It all happened early Saturday. Police said in a news release that 58-year-old Richard Donovan had barricaded himself in one room of a residence. The body of the victim, who had been shot in the head, was in a different room.

Donovan surrendered around 8 a.m. after nearly four hours of negotiations. Family members identified the victim to New Orleans media as 36-year-old Bernell Collins Sr.

Police had been called to the building after Collins' family called to report that they had not seen him since Thursday.

Police said Donovan was being questioned Saturday. Online records showed no charges as of Saturday afternoon.
