BATON ROUGE - Hundreds of people lined the streets for the funeral procession of BRPD Cpl. Montrell Jackson.

Most of the people in attendance that spoke with News 2 said they braved the heat and occasional rain out of respect and solidarity for the fallen officer.

Signs of unity were visible everywhere during the procession as police passed out bottles of water and posed for pictures with civilians.

As the funeral procession rolled by, people crowded the road, waved flags and offered up a deserving send-off for the officer who lost his life in the line of duty on July 17.
