Police: Man wanted for killing ex-girlfriend
BATON ROUGE - A woman believed to have been shot by her ex-boyfriend died, police said early Sunday. Now, the man police said shot her is wanted for murder.
Originally, Robert Antoine was being pursued on charges of attempted murder, but those charges were upgraded when the woman, Monique Maxie, died.
Maxie was shot around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Blount Road Saturday. She died later at a hospital.
According to police, Antoine fired several shots at two people; one was Maxie, 41.
