Police: Boy arrested after shooting students with pellet gun
KENNER - Kenner police arrested a 14-year-old boy after they say he shot two students with an Airsoft pellet gun.
Lt. Brian McGregor said in a news release the teen shot two 12-year-old students Monday at Roosevelt Middle School in Kenner. McGregor says one girl was hit in the leg and the second girl was hit in the stomach.
Neither girl was injured.
The 14-year-old, who was not identified because of his age, was arrested and taken to the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Assessment Center. McGregor says the boy remains in custody pending a continued custody hearing in juvenile court.
The teen was booked with possession of a weapon on school grounds and two counts of battery. He has also been suspended from school.
