One hurt after shootout erupts at Baton Rouge funeral

BATON ROUGE- Police say one person was taken to a hospital after a shooting broke out at a funeral Thursday evening.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Avis Street near Staring Lane. Police say people were gathered at a funeral repast when two individuals began shooting at one another.

One of the shooters was struck and taken to an area hospital. The second fled the scene.
