One dead in Assumption after morning crash
BAYOU L’OURSE – State Police say one person is dead after a car wreck on LA 662 in Assumption Parish Sunday.
According to Louisiana State Police, 56-year-old Bruce Campbell of Morgan City was killed when he ran off the road and struck a driveway on LA 622 north of US Hwy. 90 around 6:30 a.m. Police say Campbell was not wearing seatbelt and was ejected when his vehicle rolled several times.
The Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Campbell dead at the scene.
Troopers obtained a toxicology sample but say speed is suspected to be factor in the crash.
