Rio DE JANEIRO - LSU gymnastics freshman Ruby Harrold and the Great Britain Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Olympic team have advanced through to the team final after they took fourth during qualification on Sunday at the Rio Olympics.

The team will appear next on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Harrold came up with a score of 14.800 on uneven bars for a 19th overall finish in the first rotation of qualifying. She followed with a score of 13.633 for 35th on the floor. Harrold closed out the afternoon qualification with a score of 14.600 on vault.

After she completed her routine on the uneven bars in the first rotation, Harrold became the first LSU gymnast to compete at the Olympics since Shanyn MacEachern represented Canada at the 1996 Atlanta Games, according to LSUsports.net.

Harrold is the fourth LSU gymnast to compete at the games, a list that includes MacEachern, Jennifer Wood and Larissa Lowing. Wood and Lowing also represented Canada in 1992 and 1988 respectively.

Harrold hails from Bristol, England.
