SORRENTO - Law enforcement officers from multiple departments were involved in a multi-parish pursuit Sunday morning.

The chase started at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in Baton Rouge. Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The two suspects inside the vehicle refused to stop and fled onto I-10 East.

Louisiana State Police told WBRZ News 2 that the suspects' pursuit caused two other individuals to drive off the roadway near the I-10 Bluebonnet exit and caused a third crash later on I-10.

According to APSO, the suspects then exited I-10 at the Sorrento exit just before exit 182. The suspects then fled on foot.

Officers with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, Baton Rouge Police and Louisiana State Police searched the area for nearly two hours before taking on 33-year-old Ronderick Nelson for possession of a stolen item and resisting an officer.

Officials say a second suspect has not been found.
