Flare tower catches on fire at Plaquemine pipeline plant
PLAQUEMINE - A flare tower caught on fire at a pipeline plant in Plaquemine Sunday morning, sending emergency crews to douse the flames and secure the area.
According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, a flare up at the Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream facility on LA 1148 caused the tower to catch on fire sometime before 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
No injuries have been reported. LA 1148 and nearby roadways were shut down while crews worked to control the fire.
