Fire marshal thinks child stood up during ride
LIVINGSTON - Investigators said Wednesday it looks like a 10-year-old unbuckled herself and stood up during a ride at the Livingston Parish fair Tuesday night, which caused her to fall and be pinned under the ride.
State Fire Marshal Butch Browning said three people in all were injured in the incident, including two adults.
A witness told WBRZ reporter Brittany Weiss that the adults were hit by the ride when they tried to help get the girl out. Wade Huthcinson said he and others managed to flip the ride over and pull the girl out.
"I heard a bunch of screaming... And we looked... They had a little girl under the fire truck. It was running her over," Wade Hutchinson said. "She had blood all over her... It had run her face over, and she had black marks and blood all over her face."
The State Fire Marshal's Office said the ride will be closed until further notice.
