BATON ROUGE - One person was shot while driving near Belaire High School Thursday night.

Baton Rouge police said they responded to a shooting investigation in the 12000 La Margie Avenue.

Two people were in a car when a gunman opened fire from the street, police said.  Before the gunfire, the passenger told the driver there was someone with a gun, pointing at them.  When the driver looked, the gunman fired shots into the car.

The driver was hit in the chest by a bullet and drove himself to the hospital.

Police said the passenger was not shot and ran from the scene before being questioned.

There are no suspects.
