Crime at Angola Rodeo under investigation
ANGOLA - A man serving a life sentence for murder is under a new investigation for some kind of crime at the Angola Rodeo, authorities say.
Both the Department of Corrections and the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office were tight-lipped about the case involving Laderrick Davis.
Ken Pastorick, spokesman for the Department of Corrections, acknowledged that “an alleged incident is under investigation.”
West Feliciana sheriff’s spokeswoman Erin Foster said there is a sheriff’s office case under investigation involving Davis.
“That’s all we can share at this point,” she said.
Foster said the sheriff’s office does not have an initial report for the crime, which apparently occurred during one of the weekends in October that Angola State Penitentiary has its famous rodeo.
Davis was sentenced to life in prison in a 1996 case in Shreveport in which a man was shot in the back and left facedown in a parking lot.
