BRPD corporal previously placed on leave amid federal investigation arrested
BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge Police corporal who has been on paid leave since February amid a federal investigation has been arrested.
BRPD Cpl. Joanell Robinson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on 20 counts each of trespassing against state computers and malfeasance in office.
According to arrest information, her charges were brought by the Attorney General's office. No additional details about the arrest have been made available.
In February, WBRZ reported that Robinson, who worked for BRPD for 16 years, was placed on paid administrative leave from the department while the investigation was ongoing. The department said Tuesday that she is still on leave.
