BATON ROUGE - Street flooding was reported in Baton Rouge Wednesday for the second straight day.

A short-lived thunderstorm brought heavy rain to the area around 3:30 in the afternoon. But that brief window of stormy weather was enough to clog up at least one major roadway for the second time in just as many days.

Drivers traveling in both directions of the S Acadian Thruway were confronted with a flooded underpass near I-10. Several passed through unscathed. But a few less fortunate drivers found themselves stuck on the roadway.

DOTD has shut down the roadway in both directions at the underpass.

On Tuesday, Acadian and parts of I-110 were blocked off for hours due to flooding. As of 4:30, Acadian seems to be the only major roadway affected Wednesday.
