In BR mugging, two were shot - One killed, other arrested after being hospitalized
BATON ROUGE - An 18-year-old was arrested and there may be more people jailed after a 19-year-old was killed in a violent shootout last week.
Alonge McClain was shot-dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex on La Annie Drive on Thursday, August 6. Police described the chaotic scene as a gunfight between possibly numerous shooters.
Wednesday (August 12), police said one of the suspected shooters had been arrested: Lazarius Johnson, 18. Johnson will be charged with murder, armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon and carjacking.
Johnson was also shot in the gunfight and was booked into jail after being treated for injuries. From an original report last week, it appears McClain and Johnson were the only two people shot.
The gunfire came during an armed robbery, police said at the time.
Details on additional suspects were not released.
