BATON ROUGE - If your pet has ever gone missing, you know the agony associated with trying to find it. You can now start your search online with an impressive success rate.

The Facebook page "Lost Pets of Baton Rouge" was founded by Allison Claudet, her daughter and Cheryl Dispenza.

"We watch our page 16-18 hours a day," Claudet told News 2's Whitney Vann. "We are very focused on just lost and found pets in Baton Rouge. We check Craigslist ads. We check FidoFinder. We look online in the newspaper and the hard copy to see if anyone has posted a lost or found pet we could reunite."

Nearly 75% of all cats and dogs posted on their site are reunited with their owners. For some it only takes hours. For others it could be days, months or even years. The lost pet's page has nearly 10,000 followers. Being part of it is like instantly having your own arm ready to help you find your furry friend.
