Three arrested including juvenile in drive-by shooting

HOLDEN - Deputies said three people are under arrest in connection with a drive-by shooting at a Holden home which injured someone inside, and said one of the shooters was a juvenile.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office 18-year-old Breanna Hendry, 17-year-old Christian Taylor and an unnamed juvenile face seven charges of attempted first-degree murder as well as three charges of assault for the series of shootings.

Sheriff Jason Ard said deputies got a call about the shootings early Wednesday morning out on Weston Hano Road in Holden. Those living in the mobile home told News 2 the suspects had driven by a mobile home with seven people inside and fired at it three different times.

"Just knowing that someone could do this to us it hurts that there's much pain and evil in this world," said Shawn Marie Adams, who's mobile home was gunned down with her family.

A bullet grazed the arm of someone inside, but deputies said they weren't hurt badly enough to need medical attention.

Deputies said when they were headed to the scene they found a vehicle wrecked in a ditch with two people inside, Hendry and the juvenile. After questioning them deputies said they learned they were two of the people responsible for the shooting, and took them into custody.

"One of the responding deputies notice the vehicle in the ditch stop and checked on them, started asking a few questions and realized this is going to be involved in that drive by shooting," said Livingston Sheriff Jason Ard. "I'm glad the deputy was smart enough to put it together."

Investigators said further questioning revealed Taylor had been in the car with them but took off on foot after it crashed. Deputies arrested him later in the day after he turned himself in.

Adams says a feud between her son and one of those arrested is the motive for the shooting, but they do not know the other suspects.

"Supposedly, the young man had beef with my 18- year- old son they have not seen each other in a year in a half last time my son was in high school," said Adams.

Hendry and Traylor were booked into the parish jail. The juvenile was booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Ard said an exact motive in the case still isn't clear, and more charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
