PORT ALLEN - Two additional virus-related deaths this weekend brought the number of West Baton Rouge residents dead from coronavirus to three.

Authorities told WBRZ Chief Investigator Chris Nakamoto Sunday, a 67-year-old woman and an 80-year-old both died in the care of doctors at a hospital in Baton Rouge.

One of the people died Saturday night, the other Sunday morning.

The both tested positive for COVID-19, the west side coroner's office told WBRZ.

Earlier, a man in his 70s died at the hospital.  He'd been a resident at Legacy nursing home.

WBRZ previously reported the parish says all of its government offices, parks and community services are closed until further notice.
