Teen killed in single-car crash in Livingston Parish
MAUREPAS- A Springfield teenager was killed in a crash in Maurepas Friday night.
State Police say Megan Threeton, 17, was driving west on LA 22, when her car ran off the road and struck a tree. Threeton was wearing her seatbelt, but was critically injured in the wreck. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.
The crash happened on LA 22 east of LA 1039 in Livingston Parish just after 5 p.m.
Authorities don't believe impairment played a role in the crash, but a toxicology sample was taken for analysis.
