BRUSLY - Investigators believe a man was stabbed to death after a woman, who was later killed, showed up at his front door looking for help.

On March 27, the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said Kevin Craig, 58, was booked on charges of home invasion and domestic abuse battery.

August 4, a grand jury upgraded Craig's charges to two counts of second-degree murder.

Robert Washington, 66, was found dead inside his home on Lukeville Lane late Sunday morning. Relatives said they went looking for Washington after he didn't show up at church.

"He was a good dude..." said Dewey Breaux, who identified himself as Washington's nephew. "He never hurt nobody, never did anything to anybody."

A short while later, deputies found Myiesha Adams, 29, dead in a field behind Washington's house. Witnesses said she had gone to Washington's home looking for help.

"She comes from a good family, and she didn't deserve to die the way she died," Sandria Allen, aunt of murder victim Myiesha Adams, said.

"She didn't deserve what she got," Dexter Allen, Adam's uncle, said. "She was a loving child, and no one expected this. She was a good child."

"Just upset everybody I believe," 91-year old Odessa D. LeBlanc, Adam's neighbor, said. "That's my little girl. She used to stay here sometime with me. What type of person was she? She was a nice person," LeBlanc said.

According to law enforcement, Craig lives down the street from where investigators found the bodies.

No other details related to the investigation were immediately available.
