Police officer shot in Kansas City has died
KANSAS CITY, Kansas - A Kansas City, Kansas, police captain has died after a shooting early Thursday afternoon, multiple sources confirmed.
The NBC station in Kansas City is reporting that police responded to a shots fired call around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. The caller said multiple people were shooting at him from a vehicle.
Officers arrived and took one person in custody. A second officer pursued the other suspects and shots were fired, hitting the officer.
The officer was taken to the hospital, where he died.
