Police: Mugging suspects may be connected to 3 heists this week
DENHAM SPRINGS – Police suspect a couple arrested Tuesday could be connected to as many as three holdups in Livingston Parish this week.
Michael Watkins, 32, and Angel McCarroll, 29, were booked on armed robbery charges after a heist at the Cracker Barrel on Cockerham Road Tuesday. Police said Watkins threatened a customer pumping gas with a gun and stole the victim's wallet, keys and phone. McCarroll waited in a car, police said, and both drove down the street where police found them later.
Investigators said before the holdup around 11:30 Tuesday at the Cracker Barrel, the couple was responsible for a nearly identical holdup at the Circle K on the corner of Highway 16 and Lockhart Road.
McCarroll might also be responsible for a theft in Walker Monday, police said.
