Passenger injured in Airline Hwy 18-wheeler wreck
BATON ROUGE - Police say an 18-wheeler headed north on Airline Hwy near Goodwood ran off the road into a traffic signal pole early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened at around 7 a.m., causing the pole to fall onto a nearby vehicle. Police said the only injury reported in connection with the wreck was a minor one to a passenger inside the big rig.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was cited for careless operation of a vehicle. The truck contained no hazardous cargo, according to law enforcement.
