GROSSE TETE - A man from Charlotte, North Carolina died in Iberville Parish when he crossed the median on I-10 into oncoming traffic.

State Police say Christopher Attinelli, 47, was heading east on the interstate just before 9pm Wednesday when he crossed into the westbound lanes. His car was hit by an oncoming truck with two people inside.

Attinelli was ejected from his vehicle. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene.
The occupants in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

It is unknown at this time if impairment is a factor in this crash. A toxicology sample was taken from the victim and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab.
