SPRINGFIELD - A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the stomach during a domestic incident Monday evening.

According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, the incident happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 25000 block of Firetower Road in Springfield.

The incident reportedly started as a domestic disturbance involving a male and a female, according to Sheriff Ard. Following an argument, a single shot was fired.

The male was hit in the stomach as a result. He was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
