LSU moves up in AP, Coaches polls after bye week

BATON ROUGE - The LSU Tigers didn't need to play this weekend to move up in The Associated Press and Amway Coaches polls.

The Tigers jumped to No. 19 in the AP poll, and No. 20 in the coaches poll a week ahead of playing No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. LSU was ranked No. 23 in both polls last week. 

The SEC now has five teams in the top 25 of both polls.

The Top 25 teams in The Associated Press college football poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, records through Oct. 28, total points based on 25 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 25th-place vote, and previous ranking:
