Local police officer facing sex crimes charges
HAMMOND – A 44-year-old employee of the city police force here is facing sex crimes charges.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Brad Core, 44, of Hammond late Wednesday. Deputies announced Thursday, Core was charged with sexual battery, oral sexual battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Core, a member of the Hammond Police Department at the time of the arrest, is being held in the St. Tammany Parish Jail. Bond has not been set.
Core surrendered, deputies said in a news release.
