"Kissing Congressman" fails to unseat incumbent senator
BATON ROUGE - Former U.S. Representative Vance McAllister failed at his attempt to become a senator in the state legislative body.
McAllister was the challenger in the north Louisiana district of West Monroe to the incumbent Mike Walsworth.
McAllister has been unable to recover from a cheating scandal where he was caught on security camera footage kissing a married female staff member. After refusing to resign from Congress, McAllister eventually lost his bid to keep his fifth district congressional seat in 2014.
