BATON ROUGE- The Baton Rouge Police Department is offering a concealed handgun permit class this month.

It will be held at the Joint Law Enforcement Center at 999 W. Irene Road in Zachary and taught by Baton Rouge Police firearm instructors. There is a $100 charge to attend the class which is open to anyone 21 or older.

Participants will have to provide their own handgun and ammunition for the class.

The class will be held on May 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 Class size is limited to 30 people per session and participants should register at the Baton Rouge Police Headquarters- Traffic Records at 9000 Airline Highway. Registration will be open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The deadline to register is May 26. A payment receipt will allow entry into the class.
